Running Maintenance On Your QuoteWerks Database

Periodically, you might notice a performance decline when carrying out different tasks in QuoteWerks. 

QuoteWerks provides a utility called "Medic" that can help improve performance in your database. 

Medic has two limitations:

1)  The database has to use Microsoft Access to manage the data (Medic will not work with the other option, Microsoft SQL Server). 

2)  The size of the file holding your documents ( docs.mdb ) can't exceed approximately  500 meg.

Medic requires exclusive access to the database.  Open QuoteWerks, click on the Utilities menu, select "Show Logged In Users...".  If any users beside yourself are listed, have them close QuoteWerks.

To access the QuoteWerks Medic Utility, click on the Help menu, select About, and click on the System tab.

Verify that your database uses MS Access.  If it does, click on the entry for Install Path.  The directory for your QuoteWerks database will open.  Close QuoteWerks.  Locate the Medic Utility in the file explorer window and run it. 

Click on the Utilities menu and select Database Maintenance.

Right-click, choose Select All, and click Start.

When the maintenance is complete, check the results to see if there were any issues that were not corrected.
