ACT! for Web Browser Settings

For ACT! for Web to work properly, several settings need to be applied to your web browser.


Configure Internet Explorer to always receive the latest web content:

- Click on the gear icon in the upper-right and open Internet Options




Select the General Tab
In the Browsing history section, click the Settings button




Enable the option for Every time I visit the webpage
Click OK on the Website Data Settings




Add our web site to the Trusted Sites zone:


- Select the Security tab
Click Trusted Sites, then click the Sites button




In the Trusted sites window, uncheck Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone
- In the Add this website to the zone: field, enter http://actweb.me/ and then click Add
Click Close on the Trusted sites




Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting for Trusted Sites:

Click the Custom level… button




Scroll down to ActiveX controls and plug-ins
Select Enable under Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked safe for scripting




Turn on JavaScript:

- Scroll down to Scripting
- Select Enable under Scripting of Java Applets
- Click OK on Security Settings - Trusted Sites Zone




Turn Off Popup Blocker:

Select the Privacy tab
- Uncheck Turn on Popup Blocker




Accept Cookies:

- Click on the Advanced button




- Select Accept for First-party Cookies and Third-party cookies
- Check the Always allow session cookies box
- Click OK on Advanced Privacy Settings




Ensure that Compatibility Mode is off for our web site:

- Click Apply/OK on the Internet Options screen and then open Compatibility View Settings




- If present, remove  http://actweb.me/  from the Compatibility Mode list
If enabled, disable the option to Display all intranet sites in Compatibility View
- Click Close on Compatibility View Settings
